Just A Little Thank You...

Dearest Mother ~

Thank you for making every minute of Daven's 1st official roadtrip so memorable. Thank you for all you did for us during the trip and continue to do each and every day. You are an amazing mother and best friend and we are so thankful for you!! I wanted to get you something to commemorate D's first roadtrip and couldn't think of a better way to do so. We love you and hope you enjoy!

Happy Birthday!

This post was supposed to be published two days ago, but picture taking is a lot more difficult these days...especially when lil man is sick :)

Happiest of Birthdays to an amazing Mother, Mother-in-law, and Grandmother! You truly are a very remarkable woman and anyone who has the opportunity to know you is truly blessed! We love you!!

And...a happy belated big 6-0 birthday to Fred- one of the most amazing Fathers, Father-in-laws, and
Grandfathers there is! You have been such a wonderful role model to all of us in both your love for your family and Christ! We love you and wish we could have been there for your big birthday bash!

Happy Anniversary!

Happy 3rd Anniversary my dear husband - the man who stole my heart with his crazy dance moves and canny ability to make me laugh everyday. I love you and can't wait to see what our future holds!

Under the Weather

Our poor little Prince has his first cold. Prior to my departure for Erika's Bachelorette Party, D and I were both starting to feel under the weather. Poor Nate was left home with a somewhat sickly baby and was his superhero! He gave D all the cuddles, warm baths, and constant watch he needed! After checking with the doctor (first time parents, what do you expect?!) and being reassured he didn't need to go to the hospital, we embarked on a long night of tears, back rubs, Prayers, and cuddles....lots of cuddles!

Daven's fever FINALLY broke around 3:30am and we spent most of yesterday in our PJ's doing whatever the little man wanted...the benefits of being sick! He's feeling better, but still fighting sleep, which in turn, led Nate to be MY superhero! Although his beloved Presidential debate was on, we played the ultimate power couple as we tag teamed D's lil booty and made him go to bed. Through the laughs, frustrated "please go to sleeps", and "I'll go in after 15 minutes and lay him back down's", Nate finally swooped up his lil man and cuddled with him until he was fast asleep then quietly slipped out and I took his place. Nights like last night make me realize what a catch I truly have!

Around The World In One Day

While Nathan and D enjoyed a quite boys weekend, I traveled around the World with Erika for her last fling before the ring! We had so much fun eating and drinking our way thru Epcot as we traveled from France all the way to England!

Being with wonderful friends and celebrating such an exciting time in ones life made for a splendid weekend!

Date Night

Tears, hugs, kisses, happy embraces, sad goodbyes-Sitting at the airport waiting on my husband, I can't help but feel like the movie Love Actually is playing out before my eyes.

I met Nate at Reagan Intl. for our first real date since D was born. While he happily played with Nonni, Meme, and Poppy, Nate and I enjoyed long overdue adult time in DC. We had a wonderful visit and did A LOT of walking! The weather was perfect and I couldn't have asked for a better early anniversary celebration with my amazing husband.

When I was 6 I stood in the groove of the Pillar's at Lincoln's Memorial - not only was I shocked I still fit...I was still amazed at how big the Pillar's were 20 years later!

Old McDonald Had A Farm

Our last visit to the dairy barn occurred when I was 13. The land had been sold decades before but had been rented back for at least 13 years. I didn't go to the barn that last time because I felt I had seen it enough - oh how wrong was I. We are creating our own farm memories with Daven sans milk barn, granny's house, and the cat barn. I do wish these landmarks were still around but we still have the cows and oh how he loves the cows!

Our week in Virginia was so wonderful! Our trek began the 5th of October with our first stop being my Uncle David's. D experienced his first "Mill Day" and Apple Festival where we quickly learned his love and fascination for Apples!

Our next stop was Meme and Poppy's! After getting lost in the mountains of VA, (Mom and I both stink at directions and we had zero satellite service!) we slowly made our way to their house where we were greeted with open arms and abundant kisses!

D quickly settled into his surroundings and soon discovered the "moo moo's". He was amazed...as long as they kept their distance. The Bull is pretty friendly and came over to check us out...D wasn't too thrilled with that idea, but looked at him quite inquisitively and hesitantly.

With trips to our favorite antique stores in Lucketts, meandering around Middleburg, and checking out the Cows on the farm, I'd say we had a pretty fabulous trip!

Welcome to Virginia!

With 8 1/2 hours behind us, we've made it to our first stop in Virginia, Uncle David's! With Raffi serenading us for most of the ride, we started our trek at 9:30 this morning with only three pit stops along the way! This is D's first official road trip and he's been nothing but amazing! Lil man didn't breakdown once and even stayed up for dinner once we arrived!

This is also D's first time meeting his Uncle Billy, Uncle David and Jackie - he was taken with them and offered many a smile! Again, I feel so blessed that D has the opportunity to meet so many family members who love him dearly!

Tomorrow is a fun filled day of all things farm country-many photo ops to come!

On the Road Again

And so it begins! Daven and I are taking our first official road trip to Virginia to visit Meme and Poppy!

Our trip began yesterday with D's 7th airplane ride! This lil guy is well on his way to being a seasoned traveler well before his first birthday! Of all the flights, this was the most nerve racking because lil man is mobile...and talking..AND very stubborn. I was worried sick that he'd be trying to be anywhere but my lap. God blessed us with a great seat mate who had a 2 1/2 year old at home. He completely understood traveling with a lil one and didn't mind D trying to grab at him and share his animal crackers with him. D was also quite the little angel and received many compliments on his good behavior!

With one leg down, we start the 8 1/2 hour trek tomorrow to my Uncle David's in Spottswood, VA.

Let the travels begin!

Seminole in training

This past weekend we drove to Tampa to watch our beloved Seminoles play the USF Bulls. Not only did we get to see good friends, but it was also Daven's first official football game! He was such a trooper and hung out for a good three hours! We didn't stay for the game but had a wonderful time celebrating the pre-game festivities with everyone!
