Happy Friday!

*** Disclaimer: This is going to be winded...bear with me!! **

Happy Friday! Wow, life has been a little hectic and mostly in the best of ways! I'm sorry for the lack of posts, but with two under three, the only time to even attempt to blog is in the wee morning hours or late at night...neither of which I'd prefer to do!

In other news, the boys are growing by leaps and bounds!

Daven had his 2 year check-up and came it at: 35 1/2 inches tall, 27.9 lbs, and 19" head circumference...I think his head is now as big as mine! He excelled in all categories and acted like such a big kid at the doctors....where did my baby go?! We begin the preschool search this coming Monday and he will start gymnastics the following Monday...2 hours solo...what am I going to do with myself (I kid, I'm nervous & excited all at the same time)!

Sweet Grady is trying to catch up to his big brother as quick as possible! We have gotten somewhat of a schedule down with him and he's sleeping decently at night (one long stint followed by two 2-3 hr stints). He has a set bedtime (thankfully this has helped push D's up by an hour!!), but naps are another thing. Poor kid has to nap wherever and whenever he can...big brother doesn't like to be cooped up for too long! Grady has also accomplished the following:

- Rolled over to his tummy (2 1/2 months)
- Found his hands (2 1/2 months)

Grady is determined to show up his big brother with his early learning skills! He's smily and happy 99.9% of the time and LOVES having all the attention! D is definitely warming up to him now that he doesn't just lie there all the time. We still have a few jealousy issues, but we are slowly working those out!

As for Nate and I, we are surviving! Actually, we're doing fairly well with our crazy schedule. Nate accepted a new position at Envera and is now the Business Development Manager. With this exciting new experience comes a lot more responsibility and A LOT more 2-3 nights a week. This Momma was overwhelmed at first, but we've gotten the hang of it and I've mastered bathing two under 3 quite well! He's exhausted, but loving this new experience and I know it will only get better! I'm making it and getting out more and more...I've accepted the fact that they are going to cry and be difficult at times, but we've GOT to get out! We were actually complimented at a recent park playdate for actually getting out of the house...she said she didn't even attempt it in the first six months with two under three! Not going to lie, that made me feel a little like super mom, but then again, I've got a really hyperactive 2 year old and I'm really over "Who Who" (Curious George)!

Happy 2nd Birthday!

Happiest of birthdays to our sweet BIG boy Daven! Today you enter your terrific twos! You have grown by leaps and bounds this past year, continually amazing us with words that you've learned through listening to all Mommy and Daddy have to say...even some we'd prefer you didn't know! You continue to teach us the art of patience as you explore, jump, ignore, and giggle your way in and out of trouble! That devious grin you get when you're in deep concentration is our warning sign to the events to come...both good and bad! You are our determined and strong-willed child; characteristics that might test our limits, but will serve you well as you continue to grow and learn. You are also our thoughtful and delicate child who loves to give kisses and hugs when we are hurt and HATE to be apart from your Momma for more than a mere second - a need I will probably cry the day you grow out.

We love you more than words could ever describe and are beyond blessed to call you our son.

Happy, HAPPY Birthday sweet boy, may this year be full of magic, love, and infinite blessings!

2 Months!

Weight: 10.8 lbs
Height: 23 1/4"
Head: 15"
New Skills:

- You are officially coo'ing and laughing! We just love to hear your little voice!
- You are A LOT happier...we took you off your med's and you've seemed to adjust pretty well!
- You are sleeping a little longer at night...we get one good 5-6 hour stint and then you want to eat every couple of hours.
- You love to smile...mostly at Momma
- You hate your carseat just as much as your big brother did
- You took your first plane & train (Marta) to Nonnie and Pop-Pop's
- You love to cuddle...all.the.time.
- You are starting to scoot around at night...not sure if you're ready to roll or just ready to move!
- Can lift and hold your head up VERY well when on your tummy - you are a strong little dude!

We are still adjusting to life with a newborn and toddler! It's definitely no easy feat, but we are slowly getting there. The house on the other hand is a constant ruckus with clothes, both dirty & clean, vying for my attention, meals thrown together, and Cooper hair quickly piling up in all crevices of our happy home! Oh well...I'm learning that dirt will be a constant part of my life with four "boys"...two human, one hairy, and the other still learning to grow up ;)

And because he's just so darn cute...

2013 in review...

2013 is definitely one for the books! We once again has quite an eventful year! In no particular order...

- My best friend said "I do" on 12/31/12 and rang in the New Year as a beautiful wifey

- Daven turned 1 on 1/9/13

- We found out we were pregnant with #2 in Feb/2013

- We welcomed #2, Grady Alexander on 10/27/13

- Daven added two more flights (5 flights total before turning 2) to his Jr. Flyer passport

- Grady took his first flight 12/2013 & we experienced flying as a family of 4!

- My best friend tied the knot & we road tripped to Boone, NC...I got to play MOH again...blessed to have best friends!

- Nate started a new job

- We took the Dave Ramsey course & learned how to "live like no one else now, so we can live like no one else later" changed our lives!

- We bought a boat...sorry Dave

- We (D, utero G, and I) took two more road trips from SRQ ➡️ TLH ➡️ ATL...15+ hrs of driving each way...I've lost count of how many road trips that lil guy and I've made!

- Found out four other best friends were expecting bundles of joy AND welcomed the birth of two...KC Oliver Wood on 11/8/13 (left picture) and James Thomas Ruffin on 11/21/13

- Welcomed our beautiful niece into this world on 4/8/13

- Found out in August/2013 we were going to be an Auntie & Uncle AGAIN come April 2014 to another sweet boy...Tristan Ryan Varn!

- Daven started talking up a storm Oct/2013...he doesn't stop chattering (he gets it from me)...where did my baby go??

- Spent Christmas with my ENTIRE family for the first time in 10 years...first Christmas the boys spent with BOTH their grandparents & great-grandparents

- Celebrated Grady's first Halloween, Thanksgiving, AND Christmas!

- Experienced our first 911 call with D after he drank fuel stabilizer...we now know Poison controls number by heart!

I'm sure there are MANY more, but these are the ones that stand out the most! Happy New Year everyone and hope 2014 is full of just as many wonderful memories!

A very special Christmas!

Hello family and friends and happy 2014! We are home from our first week long vacation as a family of four! We were fortunate enough (and brave enough) to be in Atlanta with my family for our first ALL family (grand & great-grandparents, aunts & great-aunts/uncles) in 10 years.

We celebrated Christmas early at our house on Christmas Eve so that Daven could open his gifts and have a chance to play with them before jetting off to Atlanta the following day.

Making my first Gingerbread house!

Helping Mom pack...

It may be hard to believe, but this was the FIRST flight Nathan has taken with us! Yep, this Momma has flown solo with Daven 4/5 being 7 months pregnant! As always, Nate was an amazing father and took charge of D and the flight process the whole was a blessing to have him with me!

We seriously took all forms of transportation to get to my parents because we thought D would enjoy it...and oh how he did! By plane, train (Marta), and automobile we arrived at the Stewart household around 6pm and jumped right into the Christmas celebration! Pictures were taken, food was eaten, and more gifts were opened, but the best part of the trip was being able to see my entire extended family and introduce them to our newest addition (the extra "holding" hands were a nice reprieve as well!)

FIRST picture of Nonnie & Pop-Pop with the boys (D kind of cooperated!)

Cousin picture minus one! Daven decided he needed to be in the picture too...

We also celebrated two very special birthdays- Alex's 25th and Daven's 2nd! Thank you sweet sister for putting up with Elmo cakes and random birthday candle numbers all for the sake of your nephew!

The week was long, loud (we don't know how to be quiet in my family), and busy, but only in the best of ways. It truly was the best Christmas gift to spend such quality time with my family...something I don't get to do too often.

Grady very happy to be home in WARM[er] weather!
