Life Lately

Here's your quarterly update on the boys because let's be real...that's about how often I TRULY update this blog!

- Loves to tell stories....usually these start with "When I was a little boy"...and grow as the tale is told. It's really cute and shows how creative he is!
- Sings all the time - songs he knows and ones he makes up!
- Remembers everything...seriously, if you said it a month ago, he remembers what you said and expects it!
- Knows how to count to 12
- Knows his ABC's
- Can draw lines, circles, and triangles like a champ
- Has finally adjusted to Preschool!!!!
- Has finally started to get along and want his baby brother to play with him!
- Cooper is still his best friend

- Can say Momma, Dada, Please, Cooper (Pooper), Up, Baba, a bunch of jibber jabber!
- Says "oooh" whenever he sees something he wants or is ready to eat!
- Loves to a tank! His favorites are blueberries, strawberries, broccoli, kale chips, turkey, chicken fingers, french fries, apples, pulled pork, beef...seriously the kid eats almost anything!
- Walking/running EVERYWHERE
- Climbs like a fool
- Pushes my buttons...on purpose...and its painfully funny & obnoxious all at the same time!
- Loves to cuddle in the morning before everyone else gets up
- A goofball! He loves to make you laugh!
- Has a smile that will melt your heart!
- Loves all things boys...especially dirt, the beach, all types of balls, and sticks...that boy LOVES his sticks!
- Loves Cooper
- Blows Kisses like a champ
- Gives kisses...and tries to bite you at the same time!
- Loves to mimic whatever big brother is doing
- Trying to snap
- Smacks his lips together constantly
- Loves to wrestle with his daddy and brother...he's all boy!
- Think we have a lefty! Kiddo does most everything with his left hand...throw, color, eat most of the time...fingers crossed it got passed down!

I'm sure they are doing MUCH more, but Momma brain leaves me at a loss quite often!

Daven is 3!

(A little late posting, but anything is better late than never!)

Happy birthday to our sweet big boy. It's so hard to believe three years ago we brought home our little red headed bundle of love. He's grown exponentially in this past year and is as smart as a whip...don't say something if you don't plan on keeping your promise; that boy remembers EVERYTHING! He's creative; we know where it's going when he starts with "when I was a little boy"...the tales grow bigger with time, but his creativity just keeps us in awe. He's perceptive, impatient, nurturing, thoughtful, rough, and very loud - he's the perfect combination of his parents. We butt heads only because we are SO much alike. Yes, he still snuggles up beside us to sleep, but we've concluded he will leave us soon enough so to relish in the time spent together. Plus, when he cups your face and says "don't worry mommy, we are hear for you"; it just melts your heart! He's in to all things boy - running, jumping, dirt, water, trucks, hunting, fishing...but he also love to love on his babies and make sure they are safe and secure.

We went to Legoland for his 3rd birthday...just Daven, Daddy, & Momma - it was wonderful to spend a full day with just our eldest. He was disappointed in his lack of height to ride roller coasters, but we promised we'd come back and conquer them all together. He did have fun and keeps telling us all about his "birfday".

Daven, we love you more than we could ever tell you. You are such a special little boy with big dreams and a full life ahead of you. You have the determination and spirit to do big things and we will always push you to live your glorious dreams. Happiest of birthdays to our big THREE year old!

New Year, New Post

What better way to attempt to get back in to the blogging world than the new year? Our 2014 was a beautiful one - lots of love, laughs, tears, zero ER trips (phew!), and two healthy, happy little boys!

2014, you were good to us and we can't thank you enough - now let's have an equally beautiful 2015 with more laughs, tears, and happy endings!

Now for resolutions...those firm decisions to do or not do something that we make every year...and subsequently break two weeks later! Instead, let's plan on thinking about how we can refocus ourselves and make the next 12 months even more memorable than 2014.
